Terms and conditions

Έκδοση 2026-10 · Τελευταία ενημέρωση: 28 Οκτωβρίου 2026

These terms set out the rules for using the CariX platform (the carix.app website and web app), for drivers and for car repair shops alike. Please read them before creating an account. They apply together with our Privacy policy and Cookie policy. The Romanian version prevails if the two versions differ.

1. Who we are#

The CariX platform is operated by Appy Solutions EOOD, a company registered in Bulgaria, registered office: ul. Ivan Susanin 45, vh. A, et. 3, ap. 9, Sofia 1618, Bulgaria, UIC (EIK) 206612061, VAT No. BG206612061 (“CariX”, “we”).

You can write to us at any time at contact@carix.app. All contact details are in the Contact section.

2. Definitions#

  • Platform – the carix.app website, the CariX web app and the services offered through them.
  • Driver – an individual who creates an account to find a repair shop and send it booking requests.
  • Shop – a trader (company, sole trader or individual enterprise) that lists its workshop on CariX and uses the management dashboard.
  • User – any driver, shop or visitor of the platform.
  • Booking request – a request sent by a driver to a shop through the platform.
  • Estimate (deviz) – a cost estimate drawn up by a shop through the platform. An estimate is not a fiscal invoice.
  • CariX invoicing – the option in which CariX prepares the shop's fiscal invoice, in the shop's name, and sends it to ANAF, the Romanian tax authority, in the e-Factura system.

3. Our role: an intermediary platform#

CariX helps drivers find a repair shop and send it a booking request, and gives shops tools to organise their work: bookings, jobs, customers and estimates.

CariX does not carry out car repairs or maintenance and is not a party to the contract between a driver and a shop. The shops listed are independent traders. The contract for the job is concluded directly between the driver and the shop, and the shop is responsible for the work, prices, parts, warranties and for issuing fiscal documents.

Estimates issued through the platform are non-fiscal documents drawn up by the shop, which is responsible for them. The fiscal invoice belongs to the shop and the shop issues it, as required by law: either through CariX invoicing, in which case CariX prepares it and sends it to ANAF in the shop's name, or from its own invoicing program. Details under "Fiscal invoicing" in Terms for shops.

The information in a shop's profile (services, opening hours, address, indicative prices, photos) is provided by the shop, which is responsible for its accuracy. If you notice something wrong, write to us at contact@carix.app.

4. Your account and minimum age#

  • You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. Every account is also a driver account. Only a trader, or a person authorised to represent one, may add a repair shop or another car business to an account; for that business they act as a trader, not as a consumer.
  • The details in your account must be true and kept up to date. Your account is personal: do not share it with others.
  • We use no passwords: you sign in with a code sent to your account email address, so anyone who can read your email can also get into your CariX account. Keep access to your email account secure and tell us immediately at contact@carix.app if you suspect someone else is using your account.
  • You can close your account at any time, free of charge, from the account settings (“Delete account”). If you added a shop, you delete it first, from the shop's Settings (“Delete the shop”), where you choose whether to keep your account.

5. Acceptable use#

When you use CariX, you agree not to:

  • post false, misleading, offensive, discriminatory or illegal content;
  • send fake booking requests or requests on behalf of someone else without their consent;
  • try to access accounts or data that are not yours or bypass security measures;
  • automatically copy the platform's content (scraping) or overload the service;
  • use other users' data for anything other than the booking and the job, for example for unsolicited commercial messages.

If these rules are broken, we may remove the content concerned and, in serious or repeated cases, suspend or close the account, giving the reasons for our decision (see Ending the use of CariX).

Επιστροφή στα περιεχόμενα

6. Booking requests#

  • A booking request sent through CariX is not a confirmed booking. The booking exists only once the shop confirms it; you see the confirmation in your account and receive it by email.
  • The shop may decline the request or suggest another time. Availability and durations shown are indicative.
  • The details in your request (name, phone, email, car, requested service and description of the problem) are sent to the shop you choose, so it can contact you and carry out the job. See our Privacy policy.
  • If you can no longer make it, cancel the request or booking from your account as early as possible. The shop may also cancel a booking, letting you know.
  • The final price, estimate, warranty and payment are agreed directly with the shop. At launch, no payments are made through CariX.

7. Reviews#

Reviews help other drivers choose a shop. To keep them trustworthy, we apply these rules:

  • Only customers with a completed job. When a shop marks a job as completed, the driver receives a review link that can be used only once. Reviews sent this way carry the “Verified review” label.
  • One review per job.
  • Positive and negative reviews are published alike. We do not ask for or accept payment to publish, hide or order reviews, and shops cannot choose which reviews appear.
  • The shop may reply publicly to a review.
  • Reporting. Any user can report a review that breaks the rules: offensive language, other people's personal data, content that does not describe the experience at the shop, or illegal content. We assess reports and may hide or delete the review, giving the reasons for our decision.
  • A review must be honest and describe your real experience with that shop.

The average rating and number of reviews shown for a shop are calculated from published reviews.

Επιστροφή στα περιεχόμενα

8. How search results are ranked#

Results include the shops that offer the service searched for in the chosen city or area. In the default order (“Recommended”), the main parameters are:

  • relevance to the search (the service and the city or area);
  • the average rating and number of published reviews;
  • how complete the shop's profile is (services, opening hours, description, photos).

You can change the order from the search filters (for example, by rating or by price). Paid placements: in the “Recommended” order, businesses that pay for promotion appear first and are clearly labelled “Promoted”; the other results are ordered by the parameters above (the rating is adjusted for the number of reviews), with no link to payments or subscriptions. Sorting by rating or by price ignores promotion.

9. Terms for shops#

This section applies to shops (business users) and supplements the rest of these terms, in line with Regulation (EU) 2019/1150 on promoting fairness and transparency for business users of online intermediation services.

What CariX provides

A public profile in the CariX directory, online booking requests, a management dashboard for bookings, jobs, customers and non-fiscal estimates, and tools for fiscal invoices: CariX invoicing (Romania only), the link with the shop's invoicing program (SmartBill, Oblio, FGO, Keez, factureaza.ro), the invoice register, the monthly accountant export and webhooks.

The shop's obligations

  • to be a trader authorised to provide the services listed and to comply with the applicable law, including consumer protection and tax obligations;
  • to keep its profile, opening hours, services and indicative prices up to date;
  • to answer booking requests within a reasonable time;
  • to issue fiscal documents for the work carried out, including when the invoice is prepared through CariX invoicing (estimates in CariX are non-fiscal);
  • to use customer data received through CariX only for the booking, the job and its legal obligations.

Customer data

For the data received through a booking request and for its own records (customers, cars, jobs, estimates), the shop is an independent data controller. CariX stores and processes the data entered in the dashboard on the shop's behalf, as a processor (Art. 28 GDPR): only to provide the service, without using it for other purposes or selling it, with appropriate security measures and only through the providers listed in our Privacy policy. When the account is closed, on request, we hand over a copy of this data and then delete it.

Fiscal invoicing

The shop chooses one of three options in Settings → Fiscal invoicing: CariX invoicing (only for shops in Romania), its own invoicing program (SmartBill, Oblio, FGO, Keez, factureaza.ro) or no fiscal invoices from CariX.

  • The invoice belongs to the shop. The shop is responsible for its content (the buyer's details, the VAT, the mentions), for sending it to e-Factura within the legal deadline and for keeping its invoices for the archiving period the law requires. When it collects cash or card payments from private persons, the shop also issues the fiscal receipt from its cash register, as the law requires: the invoice does not replace the receipt.
  • CariX invoicing: CariX prepares the invoice in the shop's name, under the shop's own series and numbering, renders the PDF and the e-Factura XML and sends it to ANAF with the SPV authorisation the shop gave. For the data on the invoices, CariX is the shop's processor (Art. 28 GDPR), on the same terms as under "Customer data".
  • The shop's invoicing program works under the contract between the shop and that provider. CariX only sends it the invoice data, at the shop's request, and keeps a copy of the invoice for the register, the accountant export and webhooks.
  • CariX does not give tax advice. VAT rates, mentions and the tax regime are set by the shop, with its accountant.
  • ANAF: CariX is not responsible for outages of the e-Factura system or for rejections caused by data the shop entered. CariX shows the status of every invoice, emails the owner when an invoice is still not accepted 2 working days after issue, and lets the shop correct a rejected invoice and send it again.
  • The accountant export and webhooks go only to the addresses the shop sets, and the shop is responsible for them.
  • When the shop is deleted, CariX emails the owner (and the accountant, if set) an export of all its invoices, keeps them for another 90 days, then deletes them. Archiving for the legal period remains the shop's obligation.

Automatic reminders to the service's customers

When the service turns on automatic reminders, CariX sends emails, on the service's behalf and on its instructions, to customers in its records (ITP, servicing, seasonal tyres, end of warranty). These emails use the customer's name, email, car details, ITP date, and job and warranty dates. The service is the controller. It warrants that it has a lawful basis for these messages (usually legitimate interest towards existing customers for similar services) and that the texts it edits are accurate. CariX acts as processor: it sends the messages, puts an unsubscribe link in each one, honours an unsubscribe for that service immediately, uses the data for no other purpose, caps sends at 300 per service per day, and keeps the send log for at most 24 months. The service can turn reminders off at any time, for all customers or for one.

Ranking

The main parameters that determine the position in search results are described in How search results are ranked. At launch we offer no paid preferential treatment.

Free at launch. Paid plans

At launch, CariX is free for shops. If we introduce paid plans, we will notify you by email at least 30 days in advance, and a paid plan is activated only after you explicitly accept it. You will not pay anything without that agreement.

Restriction, suspension and termination

We may restrict or suspend a shop's account only for objective reasons: breach of these terms or of the law, false information in the profile, repeated and justified customer complaints, or a security risk. We send you the reasons by email no later than when the measure takes effect. To close an account permanently we give at least 30 days' notice, with reasons, except where the law requires us to act immediately or in case of serious or repeated breaches. You can challenge any such decision through the complaints procedure below.

Complaints and mediation

You can send us any complaint about CariX free of charge, including about ranking, restriction or suspension, at contact@carix.app. We assess the complaint and send you the outcome in writing within a reasonable time. For disputes we cannot resolve this way, we are willing to try mediation with a mediator authorised by the Romanian Mediation Council, chosen by mutual agreement, in line with Article 12 of Regulation (EU) 2019/1150.

Changes to the terms for shops

We notify you by email of any change to these terms at least 15 days before it applies. If you do not agree, you can close your account before that date.

10. Prices: free at launch#

At launch, CariX is free for drivers and for shops, and no payments are made through the platform. If we introduce paid services, we will tell you in advance and you will not pay anything without explicitly accepting the new conditions.

Επιστροφή στα περιεχόμενα

11. Liability#

We do our best to keep the platform working correctly and securely, but there may be interruptions for maintenance or for technical reasons.

We are liable for damage caused by a breach of our obligations, as provided by law. We are not liable for the work carried out by shops, for their prices, parts or warranties, or for content published by other users, because we are not a party to those relationships. Complaints about a job should be addressed to the shop.

Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live (in Romania, including Law No. 193/2000 on unfair terms and Government Ordinance No. 21/1992 on consumer protection), nor our liability for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence.

Επιστροφή στα περιεχόμενα

12. Intellectual property#

The platform, the CariX brand, our design, code and texts belong to us or are used by us lawfully. You may not copy them or use them for other purposes without our written consent.

The content you publish (reviews, replies, photos, the shop's description) remains yours. You grant us a free, non-exclusive licence, valid for as long as the content is published on CariX, to display it on the platform. You confirm that you have the right to publish that content.

Επιστροφή στα περιεχόμενα

13. Reporting illegal content#

If you see content on CariX that you consider illegal or contrary to these terms (for example, a review or a profile), you can report it from the platform where the option exists, or at contact@carix.app. Include the link, the reason and your contact details. We assess reports carefully and without undue delay and tell you our decision.

Our single point of contact for users and authorities under Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 (Digital Services Act) is contact@carix.app; we communicate in Romanian and English.

Επιστροφή στα περιεχόμενα

14. Changes to these terms#

We may update these terms when the platform or the law changes. We notify you of important changes by email or in the platform at least 15 days before they apply. If you do not agree, you can close your account at any time, free of charge. The version and the date of the last update are shown at the top of this page.

Επιστροφή στα περιεχόμενα

15. Ending the use of CariX#

You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaches these terms or the law; we tell you why, and for shops the rules in Terms for shops apply. After closure, data is deleted or anonymised as described in our Privacy policy.

Επιστροφή στα περιεχόμενα

16. Governing law and disputes#

These terms are governed by Bulgarian law, the law of the country where the operator is established. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live.

We try to settle any complaint amicably: write to us at contact@carix.app. If we cannot reach a solution, the dispute is decided by the competent courts in Bulgaria; as a consumer, you may also bring proceedings before the court where you live, and we may sue you only there.

As a consumer, you may contact the consumer protection authority of your country (in Romania, ANPC (ανοίγει σε νέα καρτέλα)) or the Bulgarian Commission for Consumer Protection (KZP (ανοίγει σε νέα καρτέλα)). You may use alternative dispute resolution (ANPC – SAL (ανοίγει σε νέα καρτέλα)), under Government Ordinance No. 38/2015, and for a dispute with a trader from another EU country the European Consumer Centre of your country (ECC-Net) helps free of charge.
