Car detailing
Detailing is an in-depth reconditioning, not a wash. The most common jobs are paint decontamination (iron particles, tar, tree sap), polishing, which removes fine scratches from the clear coat, ceramic coating and cleaning the interior down to the seams. Deep scratches, the ones your fingernail catches on, can't be polished out: they are bodywork and paint jobs. The price and the time depend on the package and the car's condition, so the detailer tells you both after seeing the car.
- How often
- Rarely: polishing thins the clear coat, so it is done only when needed. A deep interior clean is also for when it's needed, for example after a muddy winter or after buying a used car.
