LPG conversion

A sequential LPG system lets a petrol car also run on liquefied petroleum gas, cheaper at the pump. Fitting it covers the tank (cylindrical, or toroidal in the spare-wheel well), the vaporiser, the injectors and the gas ECU, then the tuning. After fitting, the system has to be approved and recorded in the car's documents. Not every engine suits it: some direct-injection engines need costlier systems. The system needs regular servicing: filters, tuning and a leak check.

Typical price
4,000–8,000 RON
Indicative price; it depends on the car and the repair shop.
How often
Fitting is done once. The LPG system is serviced roughly every 10,000–15,000 km or once a year.
