Injector reconditioning

Injectors spray fuel into the cylinders. Worn or dirty ones cause hard starts, smoke, a rough idle and higher fuel use, and can damage the engine. A specialist workshop tests them on a bench, measures their flow and return, then reconditions them or tells you which ones need replacing. After fitting, many diesel engines need the injectors coded into the engine computer.

How often
There is no fixed interval: when the symptoms appear or a diagnostic scan shows large injector corrections.
